ladder truss: structured members of roof system designed to support roof loads at overhang at the gable end of roof.
laminated beam: A beam made of superimposed layers of similar materials by uniting them with glue and pressure.
landing: A platform between flights of stairs or at the termination of a flight of stairs.
lintel: A horizontal structural member that supports the load over an opening such as a door or window.
log purlin: A short log member added at the gable end to support the the overhang portion of a roof, below the lookouts. In the Stone Mountain Cabin series, log purlins ofen are decorative,supporting themselves only.
lookout: A short wooden framing member used to support an overhanging portion of a roof. It extends from the wall to the underside surfacing of the overhang.lot line: Thin line forming the legal boundary of a piece of property.
louver: An opening with a series of horizontal slats so arranged as to permit ventilation but to exclude rain, sunlight, or vision.
